Delhi Police Sub Inspector (SI) Eligibility Criteria :

Physical Standards/Physical Measurements:- It is important for a law enforcement service personnel to possess a good physique in order to fulfill their general duty. Therefore the physical standards of the candidates are also considered to be a criteria which highlights the eligibility of the candidates in terms of their physical stature.
The candidates must possess the following physical standards according to their category:-
Physical Standards for Male Candidates:-
- General requirements – Height: 170 cm/ Chest (unexpanded): 80 cm,with 5 cm minimum expansion (85 cm).
- For Hill areas– Height: 165 cm/ Chest (Unexpanded): 80 cm with 5 cm minimum expansion (85 cm).
- For scheduled tribes: Height: 162.5 cm /Chest (Unexpanded): 77 cm with minimum of 5 cm expansion (82 cm).
Physical Standards For Female Candidates:-
- General requirements – Height: 157 cm
- For Candidates who hail form Hill areas– Height: 155 cm.
- For Scheduled Tribes(ST) Candidates– Height: 154 cm.
NOTE:- The weight of the candidates should be proportional to the height and age of the candidates ot all categories. However to provide the official requirements the physical standard chart has been provided below.
Medical Standards:- The medical status of the candidates are also among the important requirements which is necessary and in order to pass the medical standard test the individuals must have a proper medical standards.
The medical standards of the candidates will be reviewed to examine:-
- Eye Sight
- Hearing Ability
- Oral Health
- Mental Status
Delhi Police Sub Inspector (SI) Selection Procedure :
Those candidates who qualify under the above mentioned eligibility criteria will then be called for their selection which will be done through the selection procedure conducted under the supervision of the SSC.
The candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance of score which they secure duirng the stages of the selection procedure. However the candidates will be shortlisted after the completion of each stage of the selection procedure.
Therefore the candidates must pass the following stages one at a time to proceed further:-
Written Exam:- The candidates will appear the written exam which is set according to the following patter set by SSC :-
- The exam will consist of two separate paper (Paper A & Paper B).
- There will be objective type or Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) for both papers.
- Each paper will consist of 200 questions.
- Total marks for each paper will be 200 marks.
- Time duration for each paper will be 2 hours.
- 0.25 negative marking will be applied for each incorrect answer.
- Candidates must crack the exam to qualify the next round.
Physical Efficiency Test(PET):- Only those candidates who were able to pass the written exam based on their score will be called for the physical efficiency test which is all about the physical endurance or physical fitness of the candidates which will be reviewed through the following physical test:-
a).Physical Efficiency Test for Male Candidates:-
- 100 Meter Race must be completed in 16 Seconds
- 1600 Meter Race is to be completed in 6.5 Minutes
- Long Jump :- 3.65 Meters in 3 Chances
- High Jump :-1.2 Meters in 3 Chances
- Shot Put:- 4.5 Metres in 3 chance
b).Physical Efficiency Test For Female Candidates:-
- 100 Meter Race is to be completed in 18 Seconds
- 800 Meter Race needs to be Completed in 4 Minutes.
- Long Jump:- 2.7 Meters in 3 Chances.
- High Jump :- 0.9 Meters in 3 Chances
Medical Test:- Finally those candidates who have qualified through the physical efficiency test (PET) will then undergo the medical test. The individuals will be examined for their medical standards under the supervision the Medical Officer of CAPF or any Medical Officer or a Assistant Surgeon commissioned as Grade I of Central or State Government Hospital.
Personal Interview:- Those candidates who have be cleared after the medical test will then face the final round of personality test which is done through the interview. The interview round will be for a total marks of 100 which will be allotted based on the personality or psychological status of the candidates.
Merit List:- After the selection procedure is complete the candidates will then have to wait for the merit list to be out which will be prepared by the SSC. The merit list will be all India based result , therefore it is certain that it will require time to be prepared. However after it has been prepared the merit list will be released on the official website of the SSC.
